There was quite a lot of stuff on in town on June 13th, 1985. It was my late Pop’s birthday and it was the opening night of Club Vortex d’Junk at the Belfast Hotel (which by my recollection was down the Wharf St end of Queen Street. Isn’t that a champion of a 1980’s name. Wonder which brainwave came up with that…
I don’t appear to have been too interested in that – I appear only to have been concerned about getting a birthday gift for my father, whose birthday was looming tomorrow. Apart from Club Vortex d’Junk bursting onto the scene, there were six major theatre shows and several exhibitions on around town – I reckon you’d be hard-pressed to find that these days.
After work it was over to Pip and John’s Dorchester St abode in Highgate Hill for a spot of telly.
…more 1985 flavour.
