2/7/1985 The terrible price of gas

July 2th 1985. Production time at 4ZZZ was hard to come by and I had a booking cancelled for this evening. So, it was off to the movies with Pip.

Our cinema of choice was the glorious Village Twin at New Farm – I remember seeing Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy there and being absolutely amazed by the Dolby stereo effects! No Zep tonight however, it was Woody Allen straight down the line and The Purple Rose of Cairo. It was still cool to see Woody Allen films in 1985 (I think!) and this was a good one.

Drove Pip home after the movie and had nought more to report, other than my household’s horror and consternation at having received a $109.00 gas bill. We were sure something wasn’t right and made plans to call the letting agent first thing to report something… a broken gas line … a busted hot water system… anything.
